We never know what kind of video production project we will be working on next in good old Buffalo, NY. Our pre-production team was recently on the scene of our latest, a short historical documentary, about some very old buildings on Buffalo's East side. The project also will be incorporating a drone aerial survey of the property and 3D drone imaging, along with a 3D-virtual tour, completed by (iTours 360VR), Buffalo's authority on virtual reality and 3D photogrammetry.
Thirty years in the making, Dr. Uzo Ihenko’s proposal to repurpose 343-345 Broadway into a mix of residential, retail, and commercial space is a significant addition to the resurgence of Broadway between downtown and Jefferson Avenue. Loaded with potential, this long-overlooked area is in the shadows of downtown Buffalo near the African American Heritage corridor district.
Buffalo Videography's next video production project in Buffalo, NY will be filming a documentary on the history of the buildings at 343-349 Broadway, including interviews with former owners and employees along with architectural 3-D aerial scans of the buildings. Think google aerial view on steroids!
At 343-345 Broadway, these forgotten properties, some with portions reportedly dating back to the 1700's, comprise a rare intact grouping of turn-of-the-century brick factory buildings. The buildings have received funding for repairs, masonry work, and partial roof repairs. After stabilization, the plan to reopen includes a new storefront, utilization of available warehouse space, and work on long-term plans for mixed use development. There are numerous other sites available for redevelopment including vacant lots and historic buildings. The City has been seeking state financial help to create a public works campus.
Buffalo Videography's video production team of writers, camera crew, and drone pilot, will look to tell the history of this remarkable building along with the companies that have
called it home since the earliest days of Buffalo. Possibly back to the 1600's! Think candy, machinery, movies, and tools made here way back
when! There are some great stories inside these walls. Along with the history of this old gem, our video production team, we will look to tell the story of its restoration and the future plans for its use.
East Side development faces many challenges but with demand for downtown residential living showing no signs of slowing down, a dearth of redevelopment-ready buildings in downtown Buffalo, and a close-in location, it appears things are trending up for the Broadway area.
Now its's time to wrap things up and get to scheduling production. If all goes to plan, we expect to share the video by the end of the year.
In this game, you never know!!!
Stay tuned.
